Junior Bible Quiz offers an individual awards program as an incentive to encourage children to study the Bible Fact-Pak. Achievement is recognized with the award certificate and accompanying seals. You can find the materials - certificates, foil seals and lapel pins on the Gospel Publishing House JBQ supplies web page.
This award certificate has a place for four seals, each showing the attainment of certain levels of mastery of the Junior Bible Quiz material. The four award seals are Discoverer, Searcher, Achiever, or Master.
One or more persons should be selected to oversee the awards program and administer the tests. To test the individual child, the questions should be separated by point value, placed in three different containers, and thoroughly stirred. The cards are drawn one at a time, beginning with the 10 point cards, and the questions are asked until the child has satisfactorily completed the test or the maximum number of errors has been exceeded. If the child fails, he or she should be encouraged to try again. It is recommended that he or she wait at least one week before again attempting that step. He or she may try as many times as he or she wishes.
Requirements for earning the awards are as follows:
Certificate and Discoverer Seal - A child must correctly answer 20 out of 30 of the questions of the 10 point questions.
Searcher Seal - Based on 50 questions, a child must correctly answer 25 out of 30 - 10 point questions and 15 out of 20 - 20 point questions.
Achiever Seal - Based on 60 questions, a child must correctly answer 28 out of 30 - 10 point questions, 18 out of 20 - 20 point questions, and 6 out of 10 - 30 point questions.
Master Seal - A child must correctly answer 59 out of 60 of the total cards. These are to be drawn at random from the entirety of the cards mixed together 30 - 10 point, 20 - 20 point, and 10 - 30 point.
The Master Seal can be obtained free of charge by sending the child's name who is to receive the seal to National JBQ Coordinator, Gospel Publishing House, 1445 Boonville Avenue, Springfield, MO 65802. Along with their name, also include their age, test score, name of the person doing the testing, and the name and address of the church. Accompanying the seal will be a personal letter of congratulations. It is suggested that the Master Seal be presented in a fitting public ceremony.
If you have any child or adult attain the Master Seal, please notify the District office as well or e-mail jbq_becky@hotmail.com. The Minnesota District would like to recognize all such individuals by listing their name on this page and will a partial scholarship to camp at Lake Geneva.
